Powerboating

Introduction to Powerboating

Launching and recovery

●Safety Equipment

●Personal Equipment

●Starting and stopping, steering controls and basic maneuvers

●Anchoring and securing to a buoy

●Towing

Duration: 7 hours     

The ISA National Powerboat Certificate

  • High and low speed maneuvers

  • Effects of tide and currents

  • Leaving and coming alongside

  • Man overboard!!

  • IRPCS and weather forecasting

  • Emergency procedures

Duration 14 hours               

 

  Safety Boat Certificate

  • Crew communication (VHF)

  • Race management

  • Positioning in respect of fleet and standing off another craft

  • Coming alongside under way

  • Towing and laying marks

  • Rescue of other water users

Duration 14 hours  

 

Sea Kayaking Level 1 and 2

We use the ‘sit in’ Pyranha Master TG kayaks

Weekly day course, Monday to Friday

 10am – 1pm or 2pm – 5pm.Also evenings 7pm – 10pm     

Weekend Courses, 4 half days over 2 weekends           

Sea Kayaking Level 3

Phase 1- 2 days

Phase 2-2 days

 

 

ISA courses: Navigation shore based and offshore, First Aid , VHF and Radar.

 

Dinghy rental can be organized with safety cover- subject to availability
